What to do

On Property & in the Area

Nature Walks

Our Favourite!!

Our entire property is fenced, so feel free to wander wherever you please.  We have zebra, impala, blesbok, grey duiker and reedbuck, and as long as you don't go crawling into a warthog burrow, you are safe.  With amazing views down into the valley from the edge of the property, a nature walk is one of our favourite things to do.

Guided Nature Walk

ZAR100 per person

For those who would like a more informative walk, let owner Gordon take you on an in-depth nature walk.  As a qualified ranger with 12 years experience guiding at one of the top lodges in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, Gordon's knowledge of our fauna & flora is captivating.  He will take you on a fascinating journey and will point out plants, animals and critters you may otherwise have missed.

Bird Watching

Calling all Twitchers!

We have spotted and logged over 200 different species of birds right here on the farm, including some rareties such as Denham's Bustard, African Crowned Eagle, Southern Bald Ibis, Southern Ground Hornbill and Gorgeous Bushrike to name but a few.  So bring your binoculars, dust off your bird book, download our checklist and come and see how many you can find.

Fishing

"How big did you say it was?"

We have 3 fishing dams on the property, stocked with Largemouth Bass and three species of Tilapia.  Although the dams are small, they provide a good diversity of fishing opportunities.  Whether on fly or lure, from the bank, pier or a kick-boat, you are bound to enjoy the experience in this beautiful setting.

We are strictly Catch-and-Release.

Golf

90kms (approx. 1 hr 15 mins)

The Vryheid Golf Club is a stunning, well-kept 9-hole course with separate driving range and putting green.  In addition, golf carts, clubs and caddies are available for hire.  Finish your round of golf at the Clubhouse.  Visitors welcome.

Ithala Game Reserve

40kms (approx. 1 hour)

This spectacular reserve is located within rugged, mountainous thornveld with some of the oldest rock formations in the world.  With 4 of the Big 5 (no lions), an abundance of antelope, zebra and especially giraffe, as well as prolific bird life, Ithala is a great day excursion for the whole family.

Hluhluwe Imfolozi Big 5 Game Reserve

95kms (approx. 2 hrs 30 mins)

A little further afield lies the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve.  Home to the Big 5 (elephant, buffalo, lion, rhino and leopard) as well as a wide variety of plains game and bird life, this day trip is one we have done often ourselves.  4x4 trails are available, but the tar roads and most of their dirt roads are perfectly suitable for a self-drive.
